Photography, My Nemesis

Regrettably photography is not my strong point despite the fact that my father is somewhat of an accomplished photographer.  I guess some things just don't run in the genes.

The trouble with posting on Etsy, blogging, Facebooking and all the other social media things that one has to do these days, it's all based on photography.

My current apartment although very pretty, doesn't have a lot of natural light.  Being the penny pinching type I swapped all my bulbs out for the newer energy saving ones and since I don't like to feel like I'm sitting in a football field of light at night, I tend to buy the low voltage ones.  Consequently they're particularly bad for photographs.  So here I sit looking around my home looking for places to take pictures and the only place I can see is the middle of my bed with an unfortunate shabby chic Ikea quilt cover, which I love (don't get me wrong) but which makes for a rather uninteresting and distracting backdrop.

Well, the good news is that I'm moving in April and have a wonderful new work space....a whole attic complete with windows and two skylights.  If my photography skills do not improve then, well, it's that I really am much worse at this than I thought.

Take courage my wonderful clients...my products are great and made with so much love and passion that I hope that it shows through despite my terrible pictures.

The New Collection

The new collection is well underway including some beautiful natural fabrics with a more wintery feel.  Still very much the lagenlook style heavily accented with vintage and even antique lace.

Black Beaded Top

This beautiful black heavily beaded top has a real Charleston feel to it.  It has a wonderful sparkle and lots of beautiful flow.  This would make a wonderful top for an evening out worn with black pants and high heels, or dressed down with jeans.  Either way, you are sure to turn some head's with this lovely top!

Busy, Busy, Busy

We've been busy designing and creating....so busy that there's no time to take pictures!
I have also been busy setting up my sewing room properly so that I can work more efficiently in my little den.  Pinterest is a great source of inspiration with all sorts of organizational tips. Yesterday evening I started sorting out my lace trim and ribbons at 4pm and didn't finish until almost 9pm!  Needless to say, I didn't know I had so many and they look so beautiful all nicely wrapped around pristine white cards.  There are over 240 different trims mostly white, ivory and pink as you can well imagine.  I also have a huge collection of buttons but mother of pearl buttons will always be my favourite and always look like a little bit of jewelry on a garment.
